I am awake and cannot sleep
so many thoughts and questions that creep
in my mind and in my heart
sometimes I feel like I'm falling apart
I need you here lying beside me
That's when I sleep like a baby
Feeling your warmth and hearing you breathe
Right now is really what I need
But I'll have to wait until you're near
to sleep soundly again I fear
That time is soon and then at last
nights like this will seem far in the past
